Easter Marker Ronnestadt

We went to an Easter Market at Ronnestadt which is a pretty famous Easter market come to find out. Kaden found a flyer at the foodcourt that talked about the market. We looked it up online and there are tours centered around this market. We decided it looked like fun. At first we thought it was 3 hours away. Then we realized that there is a different Ronnestadt. We adjusted the Ronnestadt in Hesse near Hanau. We realized it was only 45 minutes away and it made it much easier to attend.

The castle is quite impressive by itself. It has a large tower that is accessible. It has a well that is 100 meters deep. You could pay 20 euro cents and it turned on lights and you could look down the well. It was insane. It looked like something out of the movies because it was so deep. These women were singing by it and taking advantage of the acoustics.

We gave the kids each a euro allowance to do what they wanted. Lauren wanted to ride the donkey. She was very cute with it. They walked through the castle courtyard on the donkey and Lauren loved it.

We didn't think Ava would go for it. She acted interested so we put her on the donkey for a picture. She wouldn't get off. We asked her if she wanted to ride the donkey. She nodded yes with a cute grin. She rode around the castle and also loved it.

Kaden bought a huge candy rope with his euro. It was tasty.

They had a huge egg to paint. Ava spent some time there.

Poor Dad got roped into being part of a play. He played the part of the king. Initially the narator(person on the left) tried to get me to say some parts in German. He gave up on that when he learned the extent of my German. This is a picture of him speaking to me in German and I have no idea what he is saying.

We rounded the corner and we heard this drum beating. These guys started rocking out. They were great entertainers and it really added to the atmosphere of the market. Check out the video. They are fun to watch.

After the Market we went to Budingen. We visited this town back in 2004 and really liked it. It is a charming town 7km from the castle. We ate Doners and Fallafels and headed for home

This is the witch cafe.

We went out to Ronneburg last year and had a blast. The Ren costumes were awesome, and Leslie & I had a lot of fun on the very top of the Castle! :) It was beautiful to look out and see the green land all around.
