We Finally Have Our Assignment!

Neauswanstein Castle
Bavaria, Germany

This summer we will be moving to.....(insert drumroll please)

Wiesbaden, Germany!!

In celebration of our exciting news, we will be hosting our first ever blog give-away! Leave us a comment and tell us how much you love us and how excited you are for us. We will then randomly select three lucky individuals who will receive a fabulous German care package from yours truly. You'll have to wait, of course, until August after we arrive and can personally select your scrumpdiddlyumptious goodies. Have I mentioned that the Germans make fabulous chocolate?

You all have a personal invitation to come and stay with us and we will show you why we love Germany so much. Whoo Hoo!

That is awesome that you get to return to Germany. What a great adventure for your family. Your mom is going to be so lonely...she already doesn't see you much. Best of luck. Your family will remain in our hearts and prayers while you are over seas.

Congratulations. I know that is where you wanted to be. That doesn't always happen with military life. So appreciate it. Looks like we might be heading to El Paso for the next four years. We did put Germany down on our short list, so it still might happen. I am just jealous that you already know. Good luck and we can't wait to hear about your adventures!

I'm so jealous!! I think I have a book of castles on my coffee table that has that castle in it! No need to consider me for a gift...just wanted to say hello and that I'm excited for you guys. What a great thing for your kids to see different cultures as well. My cousin's family was there in the military. Good to see you guys.

Congratulations on your new assignment back to Germany! I'm so excited for you. I would love to go back there myself! I have gone to Wiesbaden many times for work and it is a small base but split up into 3 areas. Kaiserslautern community is much nicer, but it's only about 40 minutes to an hour away. Maybe I will get to see you guys there again. Now you can enjoy some more trips and adventures!

I am so excited for your family. I know how much you wanted to return to Germany and now you are. I just want you to know that I have so enjoyed the short time I got to work with you in the Young Women's program. You are so sweet and if we had not worked together in YW, I probably would never have gotten to know how special you are. My grandbabies love their bows as I have told you already. Lauren especially loved her "ballet" bows. She wants to wear them with everything...even when it is not pink. You are a very talented and sweet person and I know you will be happy and bless the lives of all those you meet in your new place of residence. Love you dearly, Teresa George

Marnie, this is great!

I (we) will actually be coming to Frankfurt in Sept of this year. I got a contract with the DOD to come do training in Germany and Japan ( Tokyo) for their SLPs.
I'll have to connect with you prior. We'll or I'll be in Frankfurt for a week- including atleast 1 weekend. The training is only 3 days, the rest of the time is down time. I think Ryan and the kids will come to Germany- except its back to back and getting from Tokyo to Frankfurt is not a fun leg to fly- not to mention $$.

We are so jealous! If only we could be your neighbors in Germany again. I was just thinking today about the tulips in Holland. We miss living there so much. We are excited for your family...and may drop by for a visit even if you don't select us as the winner. That being said, we would really appreciate the goodies from Germany.

Good luck over the next several months getting ready for the move. Hopefully the kids have enough practice posing for pictures they will cooperate for the passport photos! The dreaded driving test should be a breeze for you this time! :)

Hey Marnie -

I buy one Sunday paper a week, but it is recommended that you buy as many as are in your family... I just started this a couple of months ago and now I'm ready to add a few more papers.

In a nut shell - you use your coupons when an item is at it's rock bottom price. The sites I listed do all the work for you. Each Sunday you usually get a insert from Red Plum and Smartsource. I write the date on the front and file them. When I see that Albertson's has a sale on Hershey's chocolate chips for 1.50 each and I have a coupon (from a paper 2 months ago) for 1.50 off - that's when it's time to buy and use that coupon. If I had bought several papers I could have bought several packages, for FREE.

Another huge money saver is stacking coupons. At Walgreens - they have store coupons. If you combine a Walgreens coupon with a Manufactured coupon you get many items for free - or they even pay you! Pretty fun!

I hope this makes sense... It is quite a game, and so much fun. Let me know if you have any questions! :)

I am certainly gonna miss my favorite lil purse stealer, Ava, in the nursery...and her parents :) And I'm not sure where all the mom's in the wards will find such beautiful big bows. Wish your family all the best. Germany should be a great experience!

We are very excited you get to go somewhere fun and not Waco Texas or Kelleen that would have been a bummer being there. The Volks marches will be loads of fun for you family. Kevin and I will go head to the Rockies to hold down that end of the world you guys can hold down the European front. Good Luck and Best of wishes to your family.

We are so excited for you. We know how much you liked living there the first time so this is a wonderful opportunity you have. It's not often we get what we want in this life. We are sad too because we will miss you all very much. We feel like we were still getting to know you and how awesome and talented your family is: Marnie with her soft voice, giant hair bows and FHE lessons, Kevin with his juggling, photography (I still need to get Cutler's 1 year pics taken) and free emergency dental advice, Kaden and his chamelion, good manners and energy. Lauren and her pretty hair (made possible by Marnie's hair bows), fun tights and happy smile. Eva and her friendliness and beautiful blue eyes. And who could forget "Fondue Night" with a 70's flare! Fun times!! We wish you the best of luck in Germany and future adventures. You will always have a place in our hearts for your family truly made a positive impact on our family and we are better people for knowing you and having you as friends. Thank you, thank you. Now, go out there and have some fun and create memories. Don't forget about us Texans!

So fun!!! I am excited for you guys, especially since you had that yucky deployment during your first tour to Germany.

Start planning your travel plans now. Oh yea, plan a sledding trip in Switzerland with you family. That is something that my kids still talk about how fun it was. I had a sled with McKenna, Greg with Bryson, and Courtney and Brandon had their own. It was a blast and you can't do it in the states. In case you aren't familiar with this, you take the ski gondala up, and take the sledding runs down the mountain (about 2 hours). Too fun! And we would love to come and visit you, of course, after you get settled.
