Hurricane Ike Hits Rockwall (Sort of)

We have had numerous phone calls and emails from friends and family concerned for our safety this past weekend. Thank you all for your concern; we are fine. Saturday we did have heavy winds and rain, but we feel so blessed and fortunate to be so far inland. When the storm let up slightly, Kaden and Lauren put on their rain boots for a little puddle jumpin'.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have sustained damage or loss. May they find peace and comfort during this trying time, and may WE all do what we can to show our love and support.

These are great pictures! I love playing in the rain. We have yet to see a cloud in the sky here in California.

It is amazing how far those winds and rain can go, isn't it!

I am glad you are okay, I don't know enough about hurricanes because I though you were too far inland to experience anything from it. Whoa am I dumb! I love the pictures. It is so heartbreaking to see what so many are suffering from down there closer to the coast. I am so glad you are safe!!!

I LOVE jumping in puddles. What is it about water that immediately regresses us to childhood? :) It looks like you guys got a TON of rain, though.
