I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say No...

Anyone remember the musical "Oklahoma"? There is an adorably annoying character named Ado Annie, who just can't say "N0" (to men that is). Now I don't have Ado Annie's specific problem, but I do have a hard time saying "NO". Why is this? Why do I sometimes stretch myself out so thin with projects/commitments when I know that I am the one who will end up suffering when it's crunch time?

I do love to keep busy and be involved in a million different activities, but this is getting ridiculous! I have come to this realization as I am looking at the mountains of laundry waiting to be folded and put away, and the dishes that are overflowing out of my sink and on to the counter tops. And the sad reality is that I have no idea when I will get to them.

So farewell my dear friend sleep, I'll catch up with you in November!!

I have been in your position before as I have trouble saying no as well. Luckily for me we are in a new town and noone has the courage to ask anyting of the new person yet.

good luck, I wish I could send you some of my sleep, but I do not know how to do it and I also have laundry and dishs that will be getting it the next few days.

My prayers are with you. Emmaline

i always felt like that when i was working doing parties still. it's so nice to look in my calendar now and see NOTHING in there so i can do whatever i wanna do!! i'm sure once we get settled in NC though things will flare up again. oh well, i do best when i'm stressed!

I do that, too. In fact, I think it drives my husband crazy b/c my own house gets lower priority... hence the two rooms full of boxes and junk that still needs to be organized and put away even though we have lived here for 1.5 years. Pathetic!

I am getting a bit better at it--I just can't function without sleep these days. But with you, I am sure all the projects are worthy and wonderful (unlike mine which are selfish like reading).

Oh my goodness...it sounds like you need a little of me and I need a little of you! I have no trouble saying "no" and sleep comes WAY before any project, dishes or laundry! :) You do have the most adorable house though (I remember in Oregon) and you create the most artistic things soooo you definitely have an edge on me!

Marnie, all's I have to say is that you are amazing! I still don't know how you do it all...I get stressed just thinking of all the stuff you're involved with, haha! I can never say no either, so I know how that is. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has laundry and dishes that pile up sometimes! :)
